Project Title:
The Terrible Photographer: Building a Voice.
Role:
Creator, Author, & Executive Producer.
The Challenge:
The creative education space is saturated with "hustle culture" and technical tutorials. I saw a gap for something different: a brand built on radical honesty, vulnerability, and the philosophy of creativity.
The goal was to launch a media ecosystem—spanning audio, print, and digital—that cut through the noise by embracing failure rather than hiding it.
The Solution:
I developed a "Counter-Intuitive" content strategy. Instead of positioning myself as a guru, I positioned the brand as a fellow struggler.
Brand Identity: Developed a visual language that blends "Punk Zine" aesthetics with high-end typography to signal raw authenticity.
Content Strategy: Wrote, recorded, and engineered a weekly audio series focusing on the psychology of art.
Product Extension: Translated the digital ethos into a physical product, authoring and designing the book Lessons From A Terrible Photographer.
The Result:
Apple Podcasts Feature: Selected by Apple editorial as a featured show in the Visual Arts category.
Industry Validation: Endorsed by Rafael Orta, CEO of Capture One.
Community Growth: Built a loyal, engaged audience with zero paid media spend.
“Courage. That’s the first word that comes to mind after reading Lessons From a Terrible Photographer. For decades, the photography industry has sold an illusion of perfection, gear, and viral success. Patrick Fore rips that facade apart, offering a raw, honest, and deeply personal look at what it really takes. This isn’t about tools or presets, it’s a vital guide to finding your authentic voice.”
“Proof that you can go hardcore niche and yet make something undeniable universal. Listening to his podcast is like sitting on a therapist couch. Patrick is honest, likeable, and kind.””
The Visual Language.
